Current metal prices

The price service requests gold, silver, platinum and palladium quotes in US dollars per troy ounce from gold-api.com. These are indicative provider quotes. We do not represent the feed as a direct COMEX connection, an LBMA benchmark, or a price at which a dealer must trade.

Currency conversion

We request USD-to-EUR reference rates from Frankfurter. Reference exchange rates are not continuously traded executable currency quotes. Refreshing a page does not mean the underlying exchange rate changed.

Historical gold data

Gold history is stored as monthly USD-per-troy-ounce observations from DataHub's gold-prices dataset. The file includes older annual observations repeated across months before 1960. The displayed series identifies its latest available month. Euro values are calculated using the exchange rate supplied to the chart, not historical monthly exchange rates.

Relevant provisions include § 23 EStG for private disposal transactions and § 25c UStG for qualifying investment gold. A link to legislation does not establish that every product or personal situation qualifies.
