📊 Data Methodology: Sources & Price Calculation
1. Spot price source
Gold, silver, platinum, and palladium prices come from a spot-price feed aligned with the LBMA (London Bullion Market Association) standard, refreshed automatically on our servers every minute before display.
2. EUR/USD exchange rate
The USD price is converted to Euro using the official reference rate of the European Central Bank (ECB).
3. How we derive each karat price
We start from the price of 1 gram of 24-karat fine gold (999) and multiply by the target alloy's fineness: 0.916 for 22K, 0.875 for 21K, 0.750 for 18K, 0.585 for 14K, and so on. 1 troy ounce = 31.1035 grams; 1 kilogram = 1,000 grams.
4. Update interval
Pages are cached on our servers for 15 minutes before being regenerated with a fresh price (Cache-Control: s-maxage=900) — the same figure stated on every price page.
5. Historical data & charts
Monthly gold time-series come from DataHub.io (World Gold Council / World Bank); historical silver, platinum, and palladium data come from futures continuous series (COMEX for silver, NYMEX for platinum and palladium) via Yahoo Finance. Full details on the Impressum / Legal Notice page.
✏️ Corrections Policy
If you notice an error in a price, figure, date, or legal/tax statement on this site, please send it to our contact email below with the page link and a short description. We review every report and correct confirmed errors as quickly as possible — typically within 48 business hours for live-price errors, and within a week for editorial or legal content that needs additional review. We never remove a page's modification date: every price page shows its real timestamp, and a correction updates that stamp rather than hiding that the error existed.
